Null value in Date Picker Custom Widget in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hello - Is it possible to show null value in Date Picker as default if nothing is maintained for the selected record?

This is how it should show when I am creating a new record. It works fine when I do this as a first step.

But when I choose to update an existing record, it shows "End Date" from that record, which is perfectly fine. But, when I click on creating a new record, it shows the "End Date" from previous record. I tried to clear the variable which is used to set the date. But, it doesn't help. Any input here will be really helpful.
