No item displayed in My Inbox in Workzone

Symptom

The Approval Form is visible in SAP Work Zone My Inbox when the API Form Trigger is used to initiate the workflow. However, when the same workflow is triggered from our custom SAPUI5 application, the approval form does not appear in My Inbox.

Environment

  • SAP BTP Work Zone

  • My Inbox Application ( SAP Build Process Automation )

  • SAP Build Work Zone, Advanced edition

  1. Verified Work Zone Configuration.
  2. Checked Role Assignments - (ProcessautomationParticipant role also Added ).
  3. Validated the Destination & Workflow Service.
  4. Checked Workflow Logs - (Logs are visible as shown in the reference image)

    Observed Behavior:

    1. The approval form appears correctly in SAP Work Zone My Inbox when triggered via the API Form Trigger.
    2. However, when the same workflow is triggered from the custom SAPUI5 application, the approval form does not appear in My Inbox.

I am facing an issue in above and have attached a screenshot for reference. If anyone has encountered a similar issue and found a solution, I would glad if any assistance you do. Thank you in advance for your support!

Hi Jayanth,

Could you please confirm if both the BPA and My Inbox application are being executed on the same sub-account?

Also, do you see the work item, if you change the recipient mapping by hard-coding the email address of the id being used for testing?

Hi @rohit_singhal  , Thank you for your response and for taking the time to reply to my blog post.


Yes, both the BPA and My Inbox applications are being executed on the same sub-account.
I have also updated the recipient mapping by hard-coding the email address  for testing, but unfortunately, the work items are still not visible in My Inbox.

Please let me know if there are any additional steps I should check. I appreciate your guidance!

Hello @Jayanth, were you able to solve this ? I also don’t see user task email on the my inbox app when triggered from POSTMAN Client with Client ID and Client Secret . But I do see email with user task in My inbox when I trigger from the SAP Build Process Automation monitoring tile by manually starting a new instance.
