No App Variant preview - Adaptation project in BAS

Hi Experts,

Getting below blank preview while extending a standard Fiori elements-based app (App ID F1873) using an adaptation project in BAS.

When I try to open the SAPUI5 Visual Editor by doing a right-click on webapp/manifest.appdescr_variant I get the following page.

Preview application says "Could not find any SAP Fiori projects in workspace".

The new app F0842A (Manage Purchase Orders (Version 2)) is opening in BAS Variant preview. However, now the issue is that when running Adaptation Project for the app after extension, it gives below error.

Clearing browser cache and cookies did the trick.

Hi manoj.mohanty Product Owner for Application Modeler / Preview here. I would like to comment about the message "Could not find any SAP Fiori projects in workspace". This message comes from the SAP Fiori tools and is technically correct because an adaptation project is not a SAP Fiori (development) project. The problem is that currently we can't differentiate the context menu on folder level, so you will basically see the "Preview" and other SAP Fiori tools features on every folders' context menu in the workspace. We are working on a better solution right now, so you won't see SAP Fiori tools options anymore on projects which are not eligible for it.

got a reply from sap.

some apps are not possible to be configured in BAS and need to use WebIDE. I verified with new app and its working in BAS Visual Editor.
