Hi All,
We are planning to migrate to SAP BW/4 HANA from BW7.0. What will happen to BEx tools?
1) Will the BEx reports work as usual or do we need to convert to Analysis office or Lumira etc. If needed to be converted, do we have any ready made tool provided by SAP or it has to manual creation of equivalent BexReport in Analysis office or Lumira
2) How about workbooks and Web templates( WAD reports)? Do we have any migrating tools or to be converted manually one by one by creating Workbooks -> Analysis for Office and WAD reports -> Design studio.
3) once migrated to BW/4 HANA what will happen to the existing Webi reports which have BEx queries as back end.
Thanks in adv.
Regards,
Mukesh
BeX Queries will continue to work - but then if you have to change any query - you will have to use the Eclipse Query Designer.
Workbooks - you would be better off converting the same to Analysis for Office - I dont think workbooks will work because Queries are treated as Calc Views going forward.
As for WAD - you will have to convert them to Lumira Designer - WAD will not work in B4H
Existing WEBi reports will work , but then editing the queries using Eclipse might change the IDs and the WEBI reports will have to be realigned in all likelihood.

Thanks Arun, appreciate for your response. However I have few more queries as below :
Can you please explain me what do you mean by Queries are treated as CalC view going forward. Because the Workbooks are created based upon BEx Queries so I didnt understand this point. For migrating to Analysis for office the BEx queries are needed to save as calc view. Please throw some light on this.
WAD reports needs to be converted to Lumira Designer? or can be converted to Design studio reports as well. Do we have 2 options here?
Please also confirm on how Information broadcasting jobs are going to handled in B4HANA and also query views underlying WAD reports.

Mukesh
