Moving SAProuter to new directory causes environment variable mess

Hi

We have SAProuter running and it was placed on our server at E:\SAProuter.

Due to server changes we have moved the directory to C:\SAProuter and drive E does not exist anymore.

I've change the SECUDIR and SNC_LIB environment variables to point to C:\SAProuter.

However, when I run sapgenpse get_my_name it tells me that:
get_my_name: Couldn't open PSE "E:\SAPRouter\Common\sec\local.pse"

Sure, the file does not exist there anymore. But my enviroment variables are also not pointing there. We have also restarted the server.

How can I fix this so that it looks at the location of my new local.pse file?

Hello Daphne,

Double check the environment variables for both the "system variables" and for "user variables".

For "user variables", double check for both your user and the user being used to start the saprouter (i.e., in the service definition), in case they are different.

Hi

Thanks. Yes, have checked it multiple times.
Also re-created them a few times.

We have now added a new hard drive to cater for this, so the issue is not critical at the moment.

Hi,

OK... If / When you want to try it again, execute the command "set" (in a command prompt) to list all the active environment variables. As long as they are pointing to the correct place, it should work.

Hi Daphne

1. Reconfigure the SAP router from E to C drive.

2. On the server you can create the 10 or 1 GB disk space partition and assign the drive letter K and then start the SAP router service.

Hi. Thanks for the reply, but please forgive me, I'm not sure I understand your answer.

1. Reconfigure the SAP router from E to C drive.
Should I do this? How do I do this? I've already changed the env variables, not sure what else I should do.

2. On the server you can create the 10 or 1 GB disk space partition and assign the drive letter K and then start the SAP router service.

Why drive K? I just assume it will still complain that it "Couldn't open PSE "E:\..." as I've moved it from E: to C:. Why would moving it to K: be different?

Hi Daphna

1. In windows you can refer to the SAP note 41054 for installation and reconfigurations.

2. Not on K it is on E

Thanks. Note 41054 seems to explain how to start SAProuter as a windows service. Will it also fix the fact that the .pse file cannot be found?
