Hi experts,

I'm need to modify one file which is been exclusively checked out by other user. I tried login with the user who checked out exclusively but can't see any open activities from NWDS.

But when I try to check out it says that is is exclusivelychecked and I can't modify.

Is there any way I can modify the file?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Best Regards,

Shiva

Hi Shiva

I think may the user who did exclusive check out , didn't do checkin, so u dont see it, so try this right on that DC goto DTR -> Forced revert to a particular date(date before did exclusive check out) and let me know how it goes

The file must belong to an Activity hence the lock can be removed by reverting the Activity . This is how it is done

Go to

http://<server>:<port>/dtr/system-tools/reports

->Select Activity Search

->Search for the activity

->drill down to the Activity

->Choose Revert Activity from the drop down list

Hi Pran,

Thanks for replying. I tried before posting the question but when I revert the activity it gives the following error:

Error: Precondition concurrency-lock-denied check failed.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello Shiva,

Try the following:

1. Go to the CBS webgui http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc.CBS.WebUI/WebUI

2. Navigate to 'Activities'

3. Go to the 'Pending Activities' tab and look for the activity under which the file was checked-out.

4. Try to activate the activity

Hi Christophe,

I checked that activity and surprisingly it is not under pending activities. That activity is activated but still its exclusively locked.

Any idea about this weird problem?

thanks.

Ok lets try something else.

In the NWDS there is a DTR perspective (Window->Open Perspective->Design Time Repository).

If you have a track in your studio, automatically there is a DTR client created and you can see all the files in your DTR for the track. Find the file that is locked and try to unlock it (thru the context menu).

I have never tried it, but I think it is worth a try.

hmm... I tried that before but all options are disabled. I can't even delete that file.The only option available is Sync.

You probably do not have dtr admin rights.
