MDG-M Custom field holds previous value when changed to space (Blank) after final check approval

Dear Experts,

Please advice / guide me to identify, figure out and to fix the below issue. If I missed out any steps while creating a custom field.

Step followed:

1. attribute name: Y_XYZ, entity name: MATERIAL.

2. Detailed step for creation:

a. Created the domain: Y_XYZ

b. Created data element: Y_XYZ

c. MDGIMG->Data Modelling->Edit data model->MM->Material(Entity)->Y_XYZ(attribute)

d. MDGIMG->Generate Data Model-Specific Structures

e. Activated the data model.

f. MDIMG->Create and Edit Mappings->Create and Edit Mappings and mapped the fields.

MDG_BS_MAT_MAP_2PP, MDG_BS_MAT_MAP_2STA, MDG_BS_MAT_MAP_2FC.

g. Enhanced MARA table with include (Y_ABC)-> under that maintained Y_XYZ field. MDG_BS_MAT_S_MARA_UI, MDG_BS_MAT_S_MARA_X is maintained attribute Y_XYZ.

h. UI Modeling-> Added the field in UI, no properties is set. kept is as generic.

i. In T130F maintained Y_XYZ.

Issue:

New data entered is updating correctly in MARA at time of final submit which has value in the new field.

Issue is when the data is removed and left blank (empty) and final check is approved then old data retains in MARA table not the blank one(new data). When checked in change document it shows proper data changes where the old values are replaced with the blank values.

Checked all the possibility, but couldn't identify why?

Hi Austin,

Kindly check if the custom attribute is present in CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_UI & CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_X.

I think the attribute is missing in MARA_X structure due to which data is not getting transferred to next approver level.

Hello Kulbhushan,

I checked with CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_UI & CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_X structures and found newly created custom fields are not maintained. Manually I maintained the fields and did a test run which resolved my issue.

Hi! How did you update CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_UI & CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_X ? Manually from SE11 or from some customizing point? I am facing same issue. I see structure append on CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_UI & CMD_BS_MAT_S_MARA_X, shoud I add particular fields too? thanks
