Hello Experts,

We have one material code XX509 which has been discontinued on 29.06.2024 and new follow up material XX101 has been updated in MRP4 view. The material XX509 is part of sub-contracting BOM of material XX858. For 1 qty of XX858, required qty of XX509 is also 1. For material XX509 we have stock of 5768 qty with safety stock of 560 qty. For sub-con material XX858 we have converted one PR to PO on 11.06.2024 with qty of 12075. My issue is for header material XX858 the PO qty is 12075 and the required qty of XX509 is 12075, as the stock in hand is not fulfilling the requirement then why MRP not planned the remaining qty on the follow-up material XX101. Is it because of we have converted the PR to PO before the discontinue date of material or any different data I need to check.

Hello

This is a system standard behavior, check the information provided in KBA 3083974 for more details:

'The discontinued part for subcontracting requirements is not supported in the standard system.
If a requirement laying after the effective-out date is not covered, it will have exception message 58 "Uncovered requirement outside of effective-out date" in the MRP list (MD05).
This requirement will not be covered by any new order proposals.'

Hi @Caetano, thanks for your help. I just checked the MD05 for the component there is no list for this material or any exception message, what could be the reason. And also, if the discontinue parts for sub-contracting is not supported by the system then what could be the solution to pass on the requirements for follow up material. Does we have to change sub-con BOM and update the follow up material in it. I greatly value your feedback. Thanks in advance.

If you are using MRP Live, then you won't see anything in the MRP List and you should replace the component in the BOM.
