We have a line item dimension which consists of 0MATPLANT. In the update rules we will be mapping 0material to this object is there any SID issues here and if so why, if not why not? Thanks

If the master data and the technical atributes of 0Material and MATPLANT are the same, there wont be any issues.
Also, if you wish to map 0material to 0matplant, then you cant just keep omaterial as a line item dimension.
