Hello,
We are planning to move our SAP PowerDesigner installation from traditional On-Prem Datacentre to our Cloud hosted environment (IAAS on AWS Tenant).
We use Served licences. While looking at the instructions around re-hosting the PowerDesigner licences we have a query on how to handle the Host-Id.
In the new environment the Host-Id is dynamic and will change as we regularly refresh the instance/host- it would not be viable to rehost the licences everytime there is an update to the host.
Thank you

Hello,
Please refer to KBA 3265599 - How to set up a SySAM licence server in AWS
The set up of a SySAM licence server in AWS is in principle not different than in a non AWS environment:
- The recommendation for the HostID of the SySAM licence server is to use the Elastic Network Interface (ENI).
- The ENI has a fixed, immutable MAC address which can be used as the Hostid of the SySAM licence server host.
- Besides the ENI can be detached from one host instance and attached to a standby instance in case of failure while keeping the original hostid.
Kind regards,
