Hello guys,
has anybody a documentation/weblinks to setup the (content) logfile monitoring (rz20)?
Since the new 7.20 kernel it should be possible to run logfile monitoring without these agents,
but I can't get any information how to setup which file should be monitored...
Currently I'd tried to modify the file
...\SAP\hostctrl\work\sapccmsr\sapccmsr.ini
### Format of entries for logfile monitoring:
# LogFile <full path of logfile template>
LogFile ...\SAP\hostctrl\logmon\diag_logmon.ini
content of file diag_logmon.ini
LOGFILE_TEMPLATE
DIRECTORY="...\temp" (thats the full path to the db logfile)
FILENAME="db2diag.log"
MTE_CLASS="CcmsFileDB2DIAG"
#RESCANFROMBEGIN=1
PATTERN_0="ADM1542W"
VALUE_0=RED
Version of hostctrl => 7.20 patch 124
After restart hostctrl service/reboot of server nothing happens (there is no error visible at the rz20 - logfile monitoring)
Has anybody an idea to setup the file monitoring correctly?
best regards
perhaps you can use sapcontrol inside of your scripts..

Hello Andreas,
Could you please refer to the note 535199 and check whether the
settings are correctly according to the note.
# 535199 - CCMS agents: Monitoring log files
Also, check that you are using current version of the agent.(latest patch collection).

Hello Paul,
thanks for your reply.
I've checked the version of hostctrl - this version is up-to-date (7.20 patch124).
Regarding your note 535199 - ccms agents
I thought the ccms agents should be obsolete - during kernel update to 7.20?
Note 1667336 - CCMS Monitoring with Kernel 7.20 (DCK)
With installing the new Downward Compatible SAP Kernel (DCK) 720 on all 7.x systems you are enabling the system to be remotely monitored via SAPSTARTSRV.
Applications can access the monitoring functions of sapstartsrv through a Web service interface. This interface replaces the RFC server part of the CCMS agent....
Nevertheless the configuration should be okay - for the old configuration via ccms agents.
(have a look at my first posting)
best regardsBut I'm still searching for monitoring without the ccms agents (by the way this doesn't work too).
