Log file location question...

Hi, I'm doing System.out.println("Test log"); on personalization page (person.java), but for some reason I can't see it in the log file of the remote SAP portal server: <b>E:\usr\sap\E9W\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.13.trc </b> Is this correct address?

I have created a portal project with a simple Dynpage with some jsp's and I exported .par file to the remote SAP Portal.

Any comments or suggestions are very appreciated !

Thanks so much,

Baggett

Hi, the pdf document "Using Logging and Tracing on the SAP Web AS Java" shows you exactly how to set up your J2EE for viewing Standard Output and Error, it was very useful for me too.

You still can find it at the adress

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/s-u/using logging and tracing on the sap web as java.pdf

at least this link worked for me.

Hey Baggett,

This option is disabled by default on NW 04.

In order to enable it you need to go to the log configurator on the Admin tool. For more information please read the following doc:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/75a74046033913e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

And weblog:

This weblog is devided into 3 parts, I recommend you to read all of them, it is really important for understanding the basics of portal logging.

If you need more asistance I'll be happy to help.

Regards,

Roy
