Hi everyone,
Our backend is an ECC system w/ Integrated ITS and has 1 CI and 2 DI.
The logon group is correctly configured on transaction SMLG as PUBLIC.
Our Portal is mainly composed by transactional iviews and is currently connecting to the ECC through a portal system with dedicated server, pointing to one of the DI.
Ideally, we would like the connection to the ECC to obey the logon group PUBLIC and point the iviews to both DIs, but we don't know how.
I was hoping the SAP System with load balancing would solve our problems but, according to the SAP team, it's not possible with an Integrated ITS, so it'll always point to the CI.
Has anyone ever attempted anything like it?
We're completely out of ideas here. 😛
Kind regards,
Simone S. Teshirogui
If you run a SAP Web Dispatcher in front of the instance it will do load balancing. You can run this on the same host as one of your ABAP instances or on a standalone host. Once you have set it up (takes less than 1 minute!), just change the ITS hostname and port number in the portal system landscape to point to the SAP Web Dispatcher host and port and you're ready to rock and roll...
Cheers
