liveCache 7.8 with SCM 5.0?

Hi!

We want to use some new MaxDB 7.8 features (for our AdaptiveComputing Environment). The question is, can we use liveCache 7.8 with SCM 5.0 (DB2 UDB 9.x). As I can see from the "SAP liveCache Technology Release Information: SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0 "[SAP liveCache Technology Release Information: SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0| [original link is broken]] and form note [824489|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/824489] it seems that every LC/LCApps version correspondes to exactly on SCM version?!

Is there a way to use MaxDB/liveCache 7.8 with SCM 5.0? (Documentations?!)

(PS: I know, that SCM 5.0 is running out of regular maintenance cycle 2011)

sorry, but you can not use 7.8 for SCM5.0, or any other released SCM version.

Is there an other SCM Release (available now, expected, rampup, ...) to use liveCache/MaxDB 7.8?

The [ liveCache/MaxDB 7.8 documentation|http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_8/f3/3edeb38ab14f9798d2a800b2c439c9/frameset.htm] is talking about liveCache with 7.8.

The PAM says, that MaxDB is available for SCM 5.0 and 7.0 (or does it mean onle the SCM system runs with 7.8?).

(Or could be a way to use liveCache/MaxDB under OneDB?)

Hi Martin,

yes, as the SCM DB, you can use SAP MaxDB 7.8, as long as PAM states it is a supported release.

But, you are not allowed to use 7.8 as a liveCache or a OneDB.
