Listing without DC or store.

Can you help me understand if listing can be done without creating any physical or virtual Store or DC?

Hi, 

Just to clarify first what do you mean by listing - according to my experience not everyone understands the same when talking about listing.

So, listing creates listing condition valid for an article and assortment. 
Now, from this point of view by having a global assortment without having any site (store/DC) assigned, it is possible to list the article without any virtual or physical store or DC, as you were asking.

However, during an initial listing - where also some site assignment does exist - so called article segments are also created as part of the process (MARC, MBEW, etc.). Some people think of listing as creation of just these entries.

Now, as the listing as such has the purpose to determine whether and when can be procured a specific article in a specific location, without having any physical or virtual store/DC I am not sure what is your aim actually by listing.
