List Creation, Population and Retrieval

Dear Maestros, I have created a List variable, but I am only able to Set Variable Value for the 0th element and only retrieve the 0th element, because my 'Set Variable Value' method only allows input of myVariable[0]. I would like to ask what I may be doing incorrect?
