Level Based Hierarchy description not working on lower level

Hello community,

I am currently working with a Custom Customer hierarchy, and I am facing a strange thing when using it.

I have built a level-based hierarchy dimension, and I am using it via an association with my fact view.

When I am previewing the data in the analytic model or in SAC I have a strange bug. When using the Customer dimension without the hierarchy (flat presentation) I have the customer ID and Description working fine.

If I select the hierarchy, I now loose the description for the customer but it's still working for the other level of the hierarchy. Only the description from the last level is lost, so in my case, I loose the customer description. It now show the ID in the description.

Do any of you have seen something like that?

Thanks

When I miss descriptions, it is usually caused by the view self - missing keys. Check all views - the FACT where you consume the dimension view, the dimension view where you have the hierarchy association, as well as the hierarchy view self if you do get one entry for the customer key you miss the description for. Do validate the data as well - validation button.

I have had similar issue, but was a while ago and for the entire hierarchy - regardless if level, or parent-child.  Means if hierarchy activated, no descriptions were visible. SAP resolved this bug already however.
