KM Navigation Iview document should launch in portal content area.

Hi All,

I have Integrated Business Object repository in to the KM Content.

Created a KM Navigation Iview pointing to that repository.

I can see all the folders and documents from BO Repository.

The Issue is,

When I access any document from KM Navigation Iview that document opens in a new window and not in the portal Content area.

Is there any way to launch the document from KM Navigation Iview in the Portal Content area ?

I have already set the propery for the KM Navigation Iview Display : In portal COntent Area, but this property is for KM Iview not for the documents it holds.

Please Guide!

Awaiting Reply!

Thanks,

Smita Thorat

Hi Smitha,

One workaround you could use here would be to implement the ConsumerTreeListPreview layout set in your navigation iview. This should allow you to see a tree list rendered on the left with the document displayed on the right hand side when you click on it. Otherwise I don't this is possible in the standard configuration.

Lorcan.

Hi All ,

Thanks for your response.

Lorcan, Changing the Layout set property in the iview will just change the appearance and documents are still opening in a new window.

Thanks ,

Unless it is simple files like text files, the use of preview layout also will not help you attain the goal.

But, if the user clicks on a word document in your KM navigation view and if the word doc open in the content area, how do you go back again to the iview? That defeats the purpose of KM "Navigation" iview right?

Just guessing ...

Hi Smita,

I dont think you can open the document in Portal Content Area as by using the property for the KM Navigation Iview Display : In portal COntent Area will open the iView in the content Area and not the document opened from that iView.
