Keys in DROPDOWN List in FIORI

As shown below - following option allows you to choose how dropdown list is displayed in SAP GUI. Is this option available in FIORI, so that we can select keys in drop down lists?

Resolution

Not showing the technical ID in the drop-down list is the default behavior in Fiori. Currently there is no option to enable technical keys in the Fiori apps. A workaround please maintain distinguishable descriptions for the technical codes. (Eg.: Enter the technical key into the description)

Why don't you just ask SAP Support if this is a bug or the new design, how shall SAP improve if nobody tells them?

Yes I agree with you, as suggested reached out to SAP Support. - received below reply, so its not possible in standard SAP and extension work is required.

Hi Kapil,

There is not any option to display the keys in dropdown list. This option is possible if you do an extensibility work. Fiori use UI5 as UI framework and the data is retrieved from the backend system.

Can implement a solution with sap.m.Select control and an oData service to get the data from the backend system. Here I attached an example where you can find a UI5 code example to show how the sap.m.Select control works: https://jsbin.com/bexefanebi/edit?html,output

Thank you very much for this info. I was really personally interested in that answer too, but since S4HANA is still some years away I had no reason to ask myself.

This adds another layer of work (adding the key into the text) when we are going this step.
