Key date in planning filter with several key dates on info cubes below

Hi all,

we want to have a planning solution, where at the same time Budget for next year and Forecast for current year can be planned.

Budget shall work with key date 01.01. Budget Year,

Forecast shall work with key date 31.12. Forecast year.

We created different cubes - one for Budget, one for Forecast and two variables, used as key date in central settings for each cube.

Both cubes are below one Multi Provider, on top of this we defined aggregation levels and planning functions. We need to have both cubes in the multi provider, becasue of functions which copy data from Budget to Forecast and vice versa.

Most functions need to be restricted by selections on time dependent attributes. So we have separate filters for budget and forecast, each filter is specified reading only one of the two cubes and brings it´s own key date in the filter definition, which matches the Budget key date or the forecast key date.

Nevertheless, when running functions, we sometimes get trouble, because of this behaviour:

"If the aggregation level has been created on a MultiProvider, all the involved planning-relevant InfoProviders below the MultiProvider are checked. If all these InfoCubes have the setting unspecified, the default key date is the current system date. If one of the planning-relevant InfoProviders has a different setting for its key date, the first InfoCube that returns a specific value is the 'winner'. Variables are evaluated when they are returned."

What happend was, that we run a function on budget data so the key date is supposed to be 01.01.2019, but the filter selected 31.12.2018 - which is currently the key date for forecast. So we guess the system found the forecast cube first, but that one was not in the filter selection. and also the key date of the filter is 01.01.2019.

What we need it what is written in SAP help

"You also have the option of using a different key date with every time-dependent object."

both described here:

So what can we do, that the system runs functions with filter selections according to the filter definition?

Thanks and best regards

Cornelia
