You get a pretty clear indication when a new answer has been added, but often (at least in SQLA) the comments are just as interesting / important.
Request clarification before answering.

Thanks Breck - I should have seen that it was happening. I agree with Volker about notifications, and it would be nice if you could somehow see what was new (esp the comments in a long Q&A session as often you have to click on the "x futher comments" to see the later comments).

IMHO, SQLA is based on Wiki principles (though I'm no sure if it is called a Wiki), and in a typical Wiki, there's often a "Recent changes" page that list all pages with any change...So should SQLA, I suggest.
