We have an old software that we need to upgrade from NCO version 2.0 to newest version and at the same time change the program from 32 bit to 64 bit.
The program was build with Visual Basic .net.
Unfortunately we have lost the source code so I need to start from the beginning and also it is more than 10 years since I last programmed in Visual Studio. Therefore I would like to find a small "getting started tutorial" with a simple source code example.
It doesn't have to be Visual Basic and it doesn't have to be Visual Studio - any easy getting started tutorial will be greatly appreciated, but of course I prefer a solution, that I can test without having to buy expensive licenses for software development tools.

I think, the following website should be helpful:
SAP Connector for Microsoft .NET
Here you will find a small "Overview" document (PDF), explaining the basic concepts, and also a zip file with C# and VB.NET code samples ("Tutorial.zip").
For the finer details, you can then consult the "Programming Guide" (also in PDF form).
