Is the version of the Diagnostics Agent only dependent on the version of Solution Manager?

In case of following situation, does Diagnostics Agent 7.53 works normally?
・Instance which will be monitored by Solution manager：SAP Netweaver 7.3
・Solution manager 7.2
According to the Note2253383, Diagnostics Agent 7.53 is compatible with Solution manager 7.2.
However, there is no statement about the target host version, so is it correct that the version of the Diagnostics Agent only dependent on the version of Solution Manager?

The Diagnostics Agent installation file is OS-independent and the version should be chosen depending on the Solution Manager version being connected to.
