One of our clients plans to replace the server. The new machine will be running Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials. The supported platforms page (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35654) doesn't mention Windows Server 2011.

Although I suppose it will we ok, i'd be glad if you could share confirmation or experiences.

Here's a WAG: the answer is both "yes" and "no".

Yes, SQL Anywhere 16 is supported on Windows Small Business Server 2011 because it is based on Windows Server 2008 R2.

No, SQL Anywhere 16 has probably not been tested on a separate installation of Windows Small Business Server 2011 because that entity is an separate licensing instance of an existing product, not a different product.

Feel free to call SAP... I'm guessing the first answer you will get is "Huh?", and if you press harder it will be "I have no idea" followed by "Yes", then "No" 🙂

Thanks Breck, looks like Volker's comment pointed in the same direction (so maybe it's more a WEG than a WAG ;-)). Just to be on the safe side I sent that question to our distributor's sales representative.

Well, I have made use of the same source of information, so don't count that as a second opinion:)
