Good day Gurus
I hope that help us about SAP DUET Enterprise installation 2.0 in our IT Infraestrcture.
We're installing SAP Duet Enterprise 2.0 in SAP Netweaver Gateway 2.0 (Embedded in SAP ECC 6.0), We're stucked in "Configure AD DS Connection" point within "How to Install and Configure Duet Enterprise 2.0" PDF File.
Our MS Sharepoint server has LDAP configurated
Our SAP ECC isn't integrated with AD (MS Windows Server 2003 Server), both servers instances manage different ID credentials for the same final user. For example:
SAP ID: juanperez
AD ID: juanp12
In this moment We aren't thinking in LDAP connection between borh systems
We want just to know, if the that LDAP connection is mandatory? Between Sharepoint and SAP NW GWY
In what funcionality or customizing Sharepoint/SAP NW GWY could be affected?
We're hope of your help

Hi Erick,
no, the LDAP connection is not mandatory.
However, somehow you have to tell Duet Enterprise that the SharePoint user juanp12 is the SAP user juanperez. This is done via the mapping table VUSREXTID. Here you maintain both the SAP user and the AD user.
With the LDAP connection this can be done automatically. For a productive installation, this is probably the recommended way. For a test or dev system this is certainly not required and you can do it manually (this is how we do it with most of our dev systems here at SAP 🙂
My colleague Linda has created a very nice Wiki page covering the different mapping aspects. It is for Duet Enterprise 1.0 Feature Pack 1, but the concepts are the very same for Duet Enterprise 2.0: User Mapping - Duet Enterprise - SCN Wiki
Regards,
Holger.
