The answer is No.

/sbin/insserv is one of Linux OS file, so it is not installed together with HANA Express installation.

According to your latest update, it seems it matches ##2892338 - SAP HANA DB installation fails on SUSE 15 SP01 - /sbin/insserv - no such file or directory.

Have you checked it?

Dear customer,

HANA Express installation failed due to error: "- INFO: Output line 1: /sbin/insserv: Permission denied"

Could you please check if you have logged to OS as "root" user and performed installation?
If yes, could you please check if there is any permission issue in "/sbin/insserv"?
By default, the permission looks like below.
>ls -l /sbin/insserv
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Dec 9 2020 /sbin/insserv -> /usr/sbin/insserv

KBA 2892338 describes a different error, but for your reference.

Hi CHarles,

When I installed saphana, The first error was " Starting external program /hana/shared/HXE/global/hdb/saphostagent_setup/installsapinit.sh Command line is: /hana/shared/HXE/global/hdb/saphostagent_setup/installsapinit.sh Output line 1: /sbin/insserv: No such file or directory".

so I mkdir /sbin/insserv, then the above permission problem error has occurred.

I would like to ask you when this /sbin/insserv appeared when saphana was installed.
