inserting huge amount of data in the database

i need to push about 250,000 record to the data base to a z table how to do it through a back ground job,

to tune the performance of the job?

1. Are you uploading data from Excel File or from combination of SAP tables?

2. Is it a one time job or Periodic Job?

250'000 records is not an amount that a database table update would have troubles with in any way. Since you dont give any reasons why you are expecting issues or why you currently have issues, there is not a lot the community can help you with.
