The customer is planning to migrate from a Unix environment to a Linux environment.
In a Linux environment, the customer wants to use the following CFS (Clustered File System) for sharing on SAN storage in an IQ Multiplex configuration. I am not sure if there are any restrictions on how to share storage in the manual, so I am asking for confirmation.
The CFS solution is Veritas infoscale Storage.
[SAP IQ Documentation Contents]
Any storage type can be used for SAP IQ as long as it is configured in a way that SAP IQ supports (raw devices on non-Linux platforms, local file systems for databases on all platforms, NFS on Linux, GPFS on Linux) and follows the appropriate sizing guidelines.
Request clarification before answering.
I share here answer provided by SAP IQ Support :
Basically SAP doesn't certify / test with the storage for a specific vendor.
If Veritas infoscale Storage works as same as NFS or GPFS on Linux,
IQ multiplex will also be able to work with the Veritas Storage.
I checked in past cases, but there is no customer case that IQ multiplex uses
on Veritas infoscale Storage.
For Veritas Cluster Service, the below KBA exists:
2447953 - Is the Veritas Cluster Service required to manage IQ Multiplex? SAP IQ
3143339 - Install SYBASE IQ in multiplex in Unix cluster
