Hello,
After recently installing BOEXIr2 using the .NET Framework, users of InfoView are not able to make changes to their Preferences on the General tab. None of the buttons work on the General tab (the two Browse buttons and the OK, Cancel, and Apply). The other tabs, such as Desktop Intelligence and Crystal Report work normally -- a user can make changes and Cancel, Apply, or OK them. Is there a setting that prohibits this change in the Admin Tool, or is something installed incorrectly? I have tried this from multiple machines, as well as on the server itself.

I wanted to update this, as the issue was finally resolved!
After looking at nearly every possible cause, we were unable to identify what the heck was going on. I recently did another rebuild of the server, but this time, when looking at the steps of what I did to install BOE, I noticed that after the install, I grant modify rights to the Windows user NETWORK_SERVICE, on the Windows\Temp directory. This was necessary in order to view images that were used in Crystal Reports hosted on BOE. Otherwise, the image shows up as a red x (you can read more about this here). This time, however, I made the grant BEFORE installing BOE, and voila, the General Preferences buttons worked!! This grant must do something behind the scenes that works during the installation.
I would like to sincerely thank the Technical Engineer who worked on this case with me, for more than 3 months, Gauri. She possessed amazing patience, listened well, and was extremely punctual in her follow-ups. I have worked with several Crystal Enterprise and Business Objects Enterprise Technical Engineers, and can confidently say that if you have the privilege of having Gauri work on your case, know that you have the very best.

Hello JDG,
No, unfortunately I have not been able to resolve this problem.
I have currently been working with BO support for about a month on this issue. The next attempt is to use Java/Tomcat instead of .NET and IIS.
I'm considering wiping out my machine again (4 times so far) and testing a few things. I'm wondering if when I configure the machine for AD/Single-Sign-On it is messing with something else. I would like to see if using just Enterprise authentication, without touching IIS or editing the web.config files, will the buttons work? Otherwise, I guess that one is not able to use a pure .NET/IIS environment with XI. Seems kind of strange.

try restarting the asp.net component on the server system. it worked that way for us.

svxir2 -- no, nothing was customized. This is a fresh install using all of the default settings.

Hi Sleahcim,
encountered the exact same problem. Contacted BO. They provided SP2 but nothing works as of now....did u by any chance happen to customize Infoview? ...

Yes, they are members of the Everyone Group. It is also tested with users who are belong to both Administrators and Everyone.

Thats strange.
I have those options, as the Administrator, the Guest user and as a user.
These users your trying this option with, are they in the Everyone group?
