Import data from BW Bex query to SAC system

Hello,

I acquire data from BW Bex query to SAC system and mapped the fields. The data was refreshed successfully into SAC. Now I require to add one more field and assign new fields or calculated column to previous default mapping.

But I am unable to edit the mappings or BW Bex query to add additional field in SAC. Just showing view mode only.

Is it something I don’t have authorization to edit the existing mappings or SAC tool itself is not provided to edit the mappings.

Please clarify me.

Regards,

Vasu

I assume you might be using classic account model which doesn't allow you to change existing import job. I would suggest you convert your model to new model type. With new model you can replace data source(with updated BW query) for existing import job and update mapping.

Hi @William_Yu1,

Yes, I am using classic account model. I will change to new model and check the import job.

Just to clarify, If I add new field to existing BW query, shall it allow to include new field for existing import job or will it require to replace the datasource even the query is same.

Regards, Vasu

just use replace data source, you may reuse some of your previous mapping

Replacing data source for importing Transaction data will allow reuse of the prior mapping; however Master data import jobs does not allow to replace the data source. Is there any way to copy the prior mapping of master data import jobs ? Can you please guide on this ?

Hi @abe_enoch,

Go to Data Management in Dimension
Select the import job and click "Edit Query."
Review the mapping and filters from the previous job.
Use this mapping to create a new import job.
This helps streamline the process by reusing existing settings.

based on that mapping you can create new import job for master data.

Kindly upvote

Thanks

Going to edit mode of master data import job - will not allow to modify the existing mapping nor allow to create new job from that edit query screen. So how do we create copy of existing master data import job, Am I missing anything ?
