IDoc serialization (EDIDC-SERIAL) by unique number between SENDER and RECIPIENT systems

Hi Experts,

To compare IB IDoc (Recipient system) and OB IDoc (Sender system), we are planning to use the Control record Serialization field instead of the current Timestamp value.

Will it work? or would be great to hear any other solution to compare and get the list of the matching IDocs between the two systems?

Can't you simply use idoc number + sender/receiver field from the idoc? This should be unique.
