IDOC metadata issue on SAP PO

Hi Experts,

We have IDOC to proxy interface on SAP PO 7.5 single stack. IDOC structure on sender SAP ECC system got changed i.e, under segment under E1MARAM segment SAP ECC started sending MATNR_LONG instead of MATNR. What should we do from SAP PO side.. should we ask SAP ECC colleauges to share IDOC schema? then import that IDOC schema into SAP PO/PI to make the structure consistent on SAP PO/PI & SAP backend? which format SAP ECC guys should share the IDOC schema XSD or WSDL? what are the options available on their end?

Hi

concept of SAP is to not unrelease IDOCs once they are released. So you supposed to create a next version. However, this is not very practical, as you have then new Service Interface, OM, etc. 

So in order solve your issue, you have to remove the Meta data from the IDOC adapter's cache

Now with the next data sent by ERP, you receive the payload correctly. For sure, if you want to use the new segment in a graphical map, you have also to re-import the IDOC schema in ESR - for XSLT mapping this don't matter.
