Identity Authentication Service (IAS) - Search/Filter users by email pattern

I am trying to search filter my 4k users by email pattern (i.e. @domainname.com) and even though I have plenty of users in the list with the domainname, the search result is empty. I have noticed various searches not resulting in the (intuitively) correct result.

So my question is: Is there a particular wildcard pattern that I am missing to find i.e. users having an email ending in a certain domain?

Hi Martin - I do not think the wildcard search works for strings ending in a pattern, or containing pattern. It works only for strings beginning in a pattern. I know this does not help but this is the only available option. Not user-friendly.

This is what I found in the help doc as well.

https://help.sap.com/docs/IDENTITY_AUTHENTICATION/6d6d63354d1242d185ab4830fc04feb1/06078a681826495eb...

The search is case insensitive. The system searches for entries that begin with the typed string.

If you place asterix (*) in the beginning or in the middle of your search string the system will treat it as a regular character and will include it in the search. For example, if you type *on in the search field, the system will look for users whose first three letters in any of the three fields are *on. If you type on or on* in the search field, the system will look for users whose first two letters in any of the three fields are on.

Thanks for the answer. Just one correction, the case also seems to be case sensitive. I just had the example yesterday when I tried a String with an lowercase last name and it could not find the person and when I changed it to uppercase, the search suddenly worked. Any guidance as to how we can/should suggest improvements to SAP as this is really annoying?

Hi martin.stenzig3

We have a similar requirement, and the only way I could do this was to export the users, and then filter from there. This is inefficient for quick admin tasks, and so I have submitted an improvement request. Please vote if you like:
