How to use @sap/open.fe (OpenUI5 and Fiori Elements)

Hello Experts,

i saw that the package "@sap/open.fe" exists and saw only one blog post about it with an explanation how to use it.

Unfortunately, I did not manage to get it to work as described in the blog post.
I have tried different versions (1.85,1.108,1.112).
Unfortunately, I always got an error that certain libraries were missing.

Here, for example, is an error with version 1.112.

Are there any instructions on how to use the package or does it not work at all currently?

20eed143c19f4b82bc4cf049916102cb , tinabutz , we are also trying to learn more about how open.fe is being used. We are seeing a very high usage of sap.fe (as part of SAPUI5) but almost no usage of @sap/open.fe (with openUI5), so we are very curious about what you are doing.

Would it be possible for you to share your use case? If you prefer doing it not publicly, I am also happy to have a call or an email conversation (firstname.lastname @ SAP).

Cheers,

Tobias.

Well if there is no documentation how to actually use open.fe the usage will remain low 🙂

I am happy to share on a "private" meeting what we are doing and why we want to switch to open.fe

H mariannnn,

there seems to be a regression in @sap/open.fe. It has a dependency to a lib that is not part of openUI5. The issue is being worked on as we speak.

We are also thinking about enhancing the @sap-ux/fiori-elements-writer (https://github.com/SAP/open-ux-tools) to support adding a Fiori elements application working with openUI5 to make it easier for people to get started. Maybe this is something that could be integrated into easyUI5? What do you think?

Cheers,

Tobias.
