How to upload data to date "unassigned" in SAC?

We currently have a model where we set the default booking behavior for dimension date to "unassigned".

Saving plan data in the story to this new "unassigned" value for dimension date works fine. But now we would like to upload initially some data into this model, also to date dimension "unassigned". When i was trying this the system did not accept date "000000" nor did it provide any default value "unassigned" or so.

How can i upload data where dimension date is "unassigned"?

Hi julian.rehm,

I assume it's not supported at the moment . Workaround I can think of for the moment is to load data first into a period which is NOT yet used. And once data imported, you can use a data action to move the data to period '000000' .

Best regards, William

Thanks William, yes that was also now our way of doing it. Of course this can be only a workaround, not a solution.

Hi @William_Yu1, it's been a few years now since this reply and I wanted to check whether it is still the case that "#" is still unsupported for the Time dimension. There are cases where we may want data to be loaded / maintained which has no explicit reference to time, for example overall driver parameters. If we are forced to post this to a specific member, it's not very good for maintenance, as if we choose an arbitrary time member today, as time goes on that year may need to be deleted to keep data volumes low, and it's not great to have to constantly update the intersection such data is held against. As you can imagine, this would have further impact on input forms and data actions which need to use such data.
