Dear SAP Analytics Cloud community,
Currently we are looking into the conversion of Classic Account Models to the New Model Type and are curious to read over some experiences and see whether there are any solutions for our challenges.
We have been using SAP Analytics Cloud from the very beginning and Data Models were initially created as the Classic Account Model. With regard to the future and the desire to use new capabilities of the New Model Type we would like to convert our models. Our landscape consists out of separate development, acceptance and production systems. Ideally, we would like to prepare the conversion in our development system as a change and transport it throughout the landscape.
Is there any documentation on best practices for the conversion of Data Models?
Using our transport system would mean that we lose production data in the migrated model after importing the change. Performing the conversion in the production system would mean more risks and downtime of reports and other background processes such as loading and transforming data with Multi/Data Actions.
We are curious about your experience.
Request clarification before answering.
