How to replace the existing hosts with new servers in HANA System Replication

Hi,

we have HANA system replication setup as below, which is a multi-target landscape.

Primary ---> HA
Primary ---> DR

We're going to replace current hosts with new servers.
Currently, the primary and HA hosts are located in the same data center, while DR is running on the other Data Center.

Could you please let me know how to complete replacing the hosts with new ones ?

Thanks

Koti

Dear customer,

Here are the steps of replacing the existing hosts with new ones in two DCs.

[DC 2 - DR site]
1. Register New DR with DR
2. Stop DR
3. Perform takeover on New DR
4. Unregister DR
19. Register New DR with New Primary

[DC 1 - Primary & HA site]

7. Unregister HA
8. Register New HA with Primary
9. Stop Primary
10. Perform takeover on New HA
11. Unregister Primary
12. Take a full backup on New HA
13. Restore it on New Primary
14. Register New Primary with New HA
15. Stop New HA
16. Perform takeover on New Primary
17. Start New HA
18. Register New HA with New Primary

Please make sure that all the services in the secondary site are up and running in sync with primary site when stopping the secondary site to perform takeover.
If you run into any error or issues while performing the steps above, please open a case with HAN-DB-HA component.
It would be best if you provide the information below when you open a case for that error or an issue with HANA database.
1) Fullsystemdumps of SYSTEMDB and tenant database as per note 1732157 from ALL sites.
2) The exact date and time when the error happened.
3) The steps which you've done till you run into the error.

Best regards,
