How to replace BW/HANA Composite Provider with new Source Object

Hello All,

In HANA calculation view , we can replace source table X with the some other Table Y easily by using the Option "Replace with DataSource" & in next pop-up/screen it gives me the flexibility to map the columns b/w old table X & the new table Y.

This way no further adjustments required in that CV if we could map all of the required columns.

The same option , I am trying at HANA Composite Provider to replace one source with the new one using the below "replace" option.. But its not giving any option to map the columns b/w old vs new sources. It simply removing the entire source & replacing it with the new one. All of the existing mapping from that Old source are removed.

Is this the expected behavior w.r.t HANA HCPR ? if yes , how can we handle this scenarios in a better way without loosing the existing mappings from the old source.

Hi Kiran

The way to do is to add the new source to the Union node. 

Then you can choose your new node in the source pane and chose Create Assignment Like (your old source)

Finish be removing your old source.

Hi @appel_solar_dk - This options only works if the column names are exactly same b/w old & new data sources??

The solution can always be used. It will of cause not map fields that are not 1:1 but you will have the option of mapping them manually.
