How to propagate authentication from SuccessFactors to OnPremise Fiori with HCP and CloudConnector?

Hi all,

I have to configure an HCP application as a SuccessFactor tile, but I’m not sure how to use OData authentication.

In my case, we have a SAP GW Fiori with an available BSP as service. We have installed CloudConnector, created a Destination in HCP and deployed the BSP in HCP as OnPremise with Principal Propagation. Now we have the HCP URL available in HCP, for example: https://myapplicationxxxx.hana.ondemand.com

We have created a tile in SuccessFactors, whose URL is precisely that one. We can launch the HCP application from SSFF, but, when it reaches the backend, we get the message “Error instantiating OData Model“. It seems that the userID information is not propagated to the Fiori system.

Any ideas?

Hello Francisco,

It is not clear from your message as how your extension account is configured and all the required set-ups are done for

principal propagation, So I need more details before we can determine the root cause of your application error.

1) is your SAP Cloud Platform extension paired with SuccessFactors instance via extension package for SuccessFactors ? or it is a standalone account without any pairing ?

2) Does your application work from SAP Cloud Platform before integrating into SuccesFactors as a tile ?

3) What is the authentication type you have configured for destination on SAP Cloud Platform ? i'm assuming principal propagation.

4) Have you registered extension application with assertion service of SuccessFactors ?

5) what is the IDP your using for SAP Cloud Platform ?

6) Are the users id same in all the systems ( FES and SuccessFactors )?

7) Have you done all the required configuration on SAP Cloud Connector ?

😎 Can you turn on logs and check if short lived X.509 certificate is generated by SAP Cloud Connector ?
