How to pass variables from WAD template to other template (RRI Web Address)

Hi All,

I am very new to SAP BI and working on creating a WAD template which in turn drills down to one more WAD template using RRI.

I have created a summarized query and a WAD template published to SAP Portal.

Summarized query has department and total number of employees. So in RRI I have created Sender query (Drill down) and receiver as Web address for Detailed template (Portal web address). And in u201CAssignment detailsu201D I am passing the Departments Info object to field names in URL parameters.

When I execute it from Portal and click on a Department right click Goto->Drilldown in link it shows me the variables passed from Summarized query to detailed template but it still shows up the variable entry screen to input Department(DEP).

Please help us on how to pass variables from one WAD template to other WAD template using RRI Web address.

Regards,

Roopa

Is that you don't want the receiver Web Template to pop up??

Open the Receiver WAD and there in the Web Template Properties, you will see a checkbox, Force Variable Screen Display. Uncheck this checkbox.

Hi Rakesh,

Yes, the variable screen of Receiver should not pop up and should take the values from the Sender Web Template.

I donu2019t see the option Force variable screen display in WAD 7, but Display variables option in unchecked. But this did not work.

I am using Manual Input variables in Receiver. Do I need to use Replacement Path for the variables? If yes, please provide guidance on the above.

Roopa

I believe this might be happening because you might be having mandatory variables in your query attached to the receiver WAD. If yes, then make the variable optional and not ready for input.

Hi Roopa,

You can use transaction "RSBBS" to find the settings of RRI. Here you need to provide "Query name" and you will get all the information related to RRI (Goto -> Drilldown). Hope this will help.

Ravi.
