How to install more than one DP Agent on a machine (Windows)

Hi community,

Where can I find the installation steps related to the following SAP note? I have already installed one agent, but the installation manual does not seem to mention how to install an additional agent.

The HANA DP AGENT version I need to install is:
WINDOWS ON X64 64BIT
SP07 Patch 40 (2.7.4) for HANA DP AGENT 2.0

Hi Mike,

You can for sure install more than one dp agent in the same machine, during the installation, you will have the option to input installation directory, listener port, admin port, just make sure you are not using the same for your existing dp agent, thanks.

I installed the second DP agent using hdbinst.exe, as it couldn't be done through hdbsetup.exe.

I assume you use the different directory for installation , for the port configuration, it is in dpagentconfig.ini file under dpagent installation folder.

Hello Mike,

We have same scenario where customer don't want to Have separate window server for Agent registration with PRD instance SAP HANA Database , as already we we have agent installed and configured with Agent registered to Dev instance of SAP HANA Database.

I Have read your comment , "I installed the second DP agent using hdbinst.exe, as it couldn't be done through hdbsetup.exe."

Query: Does it mean you faced issue with hdbsetup.exe but successfully able to do same from hdbinst.exe?

Also while installation this second DP agent on same server, other than different(new) installation path , what  port number you have used for Agent Listener , Agent Admin port  for second installation.

Could this be any different ports for Agent Listener , Agent Admin or any thing other?

Hi Ashish, you can use any different port number which is not used by other application, say 6060, 6061
