How to include Segment in an organisation-type public dimension hierarchy in SAC with standard API?

Hello SAP Community,

I am working on building a public dimension of type Organisation in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to represent an organisational hierarchy.
The hierarchy should reflect the following structure:

Segment → Profit Center Groups → Profit Centers → Cost Centers

So far, I have been using standard SAP APIs to bring the data for Profit Centers and Cost Centers successfully. However, I am facing challenges including the Segment level in the hierarchy.

The Segment field exists in the query behind Profit Centers, but it does not appear or cannot be linked correctly in the public dimension.

My setup uses an import connection to SAC, and the public dimension is based on these standard APIs.

My questions are:

1. Is it possible to include Segment as a level above Profit Center Groups in a public dimension of type Organisation in SAC?
2. If yes, how can I properly configure the hierarchy to include Segment?
3. Are there any recommended SAP APIs or CDS views that support this Segment → Profit Center Groups → Profit Centers → Cost Centers hierarchy out of the box?
4. If this is not possible directly, what would be the best practice to model this hierarchy with Segment included? Should I create a custom model or custom hierarchy in SAC?

Any guidance, example configurations, or pointers to SAP documentation would be greatly appreciated!
