How to get the API Key for S4 HANA Cloud trial (Not for the public sandbox).

Hey all, I've been struggling to find how to get the API key for my trial of S4 HANA Cloud.

I've only found how to retrieve the API Key that let's you hit this url: https://sandbox.api.sap.com
But where do I get the key for my S4 HANA Cloud trial instance that has a url of this style: https://myXXXXX.s4hana.ondemand.com/ ?

I'd appreciate a lot some help, also if you can mention how I'd get the API Key for a production environment as well, would be helpful in advance. Cheers.

I assume you are using a trial version of S/4HANA Cloud Public from https://www.sap.com/products/erp/s4hana/trial.html?

In the FAQ, it says, "The trial system only offers a selected subset of the overall functionality of S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Key user capabilities like ... integration with SAP BTP are not offered in this trial."

As I understand you want to use the Business Accelerator Hub Try It Out feature with your own system.

To do this, you should make sure you are logged into the Business Accelerator Hub with your SAP ID.

Access the API you want to test (for example, the Sales Order (A2X) https://api.sap.com/api/CE_SALESORDER_0001/tryout)

Select the Try Out tab, then next to the Operation, there is a drop down to Select Environment

Select "+ Add New Environment".

Here you will define a name for your system and enter the details for your system, as you have defined (exposed) them in the Communication Arrangements App in you S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system for Authentication, etc.

If you are wanting to consume the APIs you have exposed in a custom app (i.e. Side By Side extensibility) on BTP, for example, you would need to utilize the Destination Service, as outlined in the BTP Help.

In SAP S 4 HANNA Cloud trial (14 days) we don't have access to Communication Arrangements App so therefore we cannot test any apis using our trial domain . Is there any other possible solution to bypass than? I would like to be able to test some apis inside a integration flow, I'm also using BTP trial.

Thanks a lot for answering @Jerry_Lowery We first start as partners eco build and we did an integration with our system using Sap erp ecc 6 on prem and then after applying for certification we found out that only cloud solutions are candidates for certification. Then we started the hard path because we didn't find anyone that could provide us with some guideline in order to kbow what is necessary to have to obtain the certification. So we apply for Partner Build  and I have started a BTP trial and S 4 hanna cloud trial. In this moment i'm in the middle of implementing the first integration scenario and I've used open connector to communicate with our system a lot of groovy scripts and in order to somehow simulate the sap environment I have found on sap bussniss accelerator hub the sap returnable package that have a free sanbox and was the most suitable to our needs because ig has odata services for company codes plants materials. But honestly i don't know if I'm on the right path and if this path can give us the certification. PS now I'm really struggling to understand iterating spliter and aggregator because i have  a list of objects and for each one of those i want to call an odata service and only after all if them are processed to make another call to another odata.

Unfortunately, in this case, I think you can only use the Sandbox environment. Are you a partner with a Test and Demo system?

PS I found out the Sandbox Try it Feature was under maintenance recently and it would be available again after September 19, 2025 (planned but not committed and subject to change) - If you find it is not working, please provide feedback in the Business Accelerator Hub.
