How to get my formatting to show in Excel

I have a cross tab report that looks like this in Crystal Reports:

I have hidden the column to the left as it displays peoples names. When I attempt to export it to Excel this is what it looks like:

Where did the lines go? How can I get them back and for it to look like the way I designed it in Crystal Reports? If I select show gridlines, it shows gridlines but not for the totals. Why would it do that? I just want there to be some sort of gridlines like it looks in the first picture so it is easy to read in excel. Any suggestions? Thank you

What version of Crystal are you using? And what type of Excel export are you using - .xls or .xlsx? Data only?

I am using Crystal Reports 2020. I've tried all ways of exporting to Excel, none of them look close to the way it does in the report. The closest I'm able to get it exporting .xlsx and selecting show gridlines. But theres no gridlines at any of the totals, which just doesnt make sense to me.
