How to expand default memory size for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition?

Hello ILM experts,

As described in the help portal page for ILM Advisor app, the default licensed memory size is 100 GB.
Does the default memory size of 100GB apply to all customer production systems?
How can a customer request to expand the memory size more than 100 GB if required?

No. I got any errors. I would like to confirm the default memory size from the housekeeping point of view. I could not find any SAP KBAs, SAP Notes or any other SAP documents clearly described about the default memory size.

Hi,

At this point, not many customers accumulated a large quantity of data in the system to consider archiving. This 100 GB Licensed Memory is a threshold to be used in those objects to be considered as archiving. This is a starting point. If this threshold is too small, customers can raise a ticket to our ops team to request a change with their reasons.

One more thing to consider is that we are using a HANA DB here. This database avoided a lot of zero values to be stored in the database. So 100 GB could store a lot of data comparing with RDBMS.

Regards,

George

Hi @EikiK ,

the 100 GB displayed in ILM Advisor is a fixed value and is rather for illustration purpose. It does not necessarily correspond to the memory entitlement of your individual contract. For 2SL customers the default(!) memory entitlement is 100 GB, but customers can buy memory extensions. For 3SL there is a different default and also the way the memory consumption is calculated differes.
Please see Understanding HANA memory related license utilizat... - SAP Community for more details ... and please don't take the 100 GB in ILM Advisor too serious.

Best regards,

Claudia
