How to enable a grayed/Disable field in SAP MDG-S?

I have recently added a field called Activity code in MDG-S ERP, But the issue is that field is still inactive/Grayed out...How to make it active.

Hi adityasravan ,

Usually, this issue occurs when you do not have done the GENIL Extension properly. Please follow this document and do the genil extension and check if the field is editable.

i am not sure if we need to do the genil extension if we are adding Standard SAP field at ERP level in BP T-code.

Hi,

Could you check the below possibilities.

1. check if the field is in scope of Governance (in MDGIMG)

2. Check if the SMT mapping is correctly done.

3. For the change request type you are using , check if the field is marked as relevant.

the field is out of scope of Governance.

We are using this field only at ERP level in BP t-Code.

for the BP txn , please check the spro config : Financial Supply Chain Management> Treasury Risk Management> Basic functions> SAP Business Partners for Financial Services> General Settings> Business Partners> Basic Settings> Field Groupings. Check if the field is set as 'Display' for BP Role or BP type.

Checked both BP type and BP role...Still no use.

There is already two pre-defined input values are maintained for the field but i am not able to select any value .....Further i have added one more input value still it is Grayed out.

By screen input i meant the value of parameter screen-input in the selection screen code. Could you please check the value. It should be 1 for enabling the field.

Hello, I believe this issue is resolved.
But if you are still facing the same issue, you can check the CR level settings,
Under the CR type>Configure CR Steps>Entity>Attributes - you can check for the settings you filed might be in 'Not Relevant' state, set that to 'Standard' or 'No Require Field Check' based on your business Requirement.

I think it's worth giving a try 🙂
