There are 3 approaches to developing custom reports in PCE environment -

Approach	Best Use Case	Skills Required
CDS Views + Fiori	Modern reports, Embedded Analytics	ABAP CDS, Fiori
ABAP Reports (SE38)	Traditional ALV reports, background jobs	ABAP
Fiori Embedded Analytics	Self-service reports, KPI monitoring	No coding (Fiori Apps)
