how to declare application expiration time in portal

Hi Experts,

I need to specify expiration time for applications how to specify where to specify we should specify in visual j2ee admin tool but tell me the process.....

how to achieve this ......

Thanks a lot but having one doubt is ... what is the maximum limt of the expiration time for all applications ....

It depends upon the application.If any application involves with worklfow( approval..) it needs lot of time......

I am unable to mention that.....better to wait for other responses

Hi,

for webdynpro applications its 3600 secs.

you can increase decrease expiration timings in visual admin.

Hi thanku pradeep .....

iam giving u points.....

and iam getting in portal an error in webdynpro application i.e,

sessiontime out this is comming when iam performing some task and waiting and after with in seconds if iam clicking on anything on the samr button its showing like that .......

can u specify clearly......

Hi shilpaa,

If you are getting the error in Webdynpro (NWDS) you can change it by following steps in NWDS only

1) Select and right click on Application.

2) Select the Application properties tab

3) Select the Pre defined radio button

4) Select the browse button

5) Select Expiration Time

Set the in seconds (approximately your required time)

If the problem is in Portal ( for webdynpro iview) then...

1) Double click the iView from the Portal Content.

2) In the right pane, select 'Load' from the Property Category dropdown.

3) Set value for the property, 'Cache Validity' to the desired time.

Save the changes.
