Hello,
I would like to start using the DT feature.
I see that when I create new Client at my NWDS I am being asked to enter the DRT Server URL. Does this comes with the portal installation (I am using NW 04 SP 11) or should I install it separately? Can anyone please give me "first steps" towards the DT?
10X,
Roy
Hi, Roy,
you may try to use DTR immediately after installation, on your risk - as any not tuned engine it may "surprise" you
Kind regards,
Andy

Hey Rich,
I've located the files and I shall deploy them, but before I do that few questions:
1. I have NW 04 SP11, Can I deploy JDI SP12 on it or should I must be consistent and deploy JDI SP11 as well?
2. After the deployment, where can I start configuring the DTR Server? Does it come as a Service on the Web AS or there is is a standalone program that I need to activate (Like I'm activating the Admin tool or the SDM for instance)?
3. I see that the JDI contains 3 major sda's:
JDI BUILD TOOL, JDI OFFLINE and JDI ONLINE. Can you please explain me if I need all 3 and what each sda uses for?
Thank you in advance,
Roy
1) I would stay consistant and deploy the SP11.
2) You can reach the DTR by the following link.
<b> http://<host>:<port>/dtr</b>;
I am not sure if you can "configure it here or
not. There is a "plug in" of sorts in NWDS, that
turns on some functions for the DTR that you
wouldn't normally have. You can do config there.
I'll get back to you about this hack.
3) Yes, you need all three. I have no idea what each of them do, but deploy each of them.
If this answers have been helpful, please reward points accordingly. Thanks.

10X Rich but before I start working from the client side should I make any special configurations on the Server side? For example, see this link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b0/a6de3f68d48f15e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Is this something you made on your side or simply started working after deployment?
