How to copy Data from Change Request in SAP MDG BP 9.1

Hi Experts,

Hope you are doing well.

Recently we got a requirement where copy functionality should be enabled for copying data from in progress CR.

In standard we are good to copy data from active customer but need to copy similarly from in-progress customer only.

Please share your thoughts on that.

Hi Samrat,

You can indeed copy in progress CR of existing BP . Its a standard feature. check for SAP notes if it is not working else check with SAP.

Hello Logan,

the functionality as shown by Samrat requires active records. It is not usable for data that is stored inactively in a change request only.

Hello Logan,

I am not sure it is possible in MDG. As the copy functionality only copy from active area and not from staging area.

However your screen looks different, how it is possible. Never seen this functionality available as we are also using 9.1.

Not sure if we are missing anything here.

Hi Samart,

Yes, you can copy the in progress CR of existing BP. Means that the BP already created and you wanted to change it again using CR. You can copy that in progress CR but as our folks already mentioned in BP copy functionality reads data from active area but not from staging tables .

Also, Copy of new creation is not possible in BP. For that you need to write a custom code to read the staging tables and create the CR.
